Latest News.

  • The road books, maps, rally plates etc were all despatched on Friday by first class post. Another newsletter is available. This newsletter is available here.

  • We had hoped to get the books etc. in the post today but the suppliers of the rally plates and the printers of the road books have both had problems - we hope to get them in the post on Friday - they will be despatched first class.

  • Newsletter 6 is being prepared with all the latest information and that will be published at the end of this week 3rd September. The newsletter is now available here.

  • The final route survey is being undertaken from the 4th September when we make sure the road book instructions work and there are no road works etc which cause us problems later in the month.

  • Fleeces will be delivered at Dover.

  • The Road Book and all the event information will be sent out around 15th September, once received back from the printers, they cannot complete it earlier as they need the information from the final route survey! With the Road Book you will receive the Michelin Road Atlas, Rally Plates, Hotel details and event stickers.

  • Included now on the site is a list of Hotels and Bed & Breakfasts in Dover and Ashford. They can be found here. A useful link is www.kenttourism.co.uk.

  • Updated information about getting home - see here.

  • A reminder - final payments are now due!

  • Newsletter 5 Has just been published and is on it way to all those entered. With this is a printout from the database which needs to be checked as this information is being used to confirm ferry and hotel reservations.  The newsletter is also available here. (9/8/04)

  •  As a club recognised by Motor Sports Association (MSA) for the organisation of motoring events we are having to apply to the equivalent body in France (FFSA) for authorisation to run the event there. The MSA doesn't think there should be a problem. A number of events, using competitive sections, have been run by other organisations (from the UK) without permission. This has given rise problems and complaints and as a consequence of this certain areas of the route may need to be changed.

  • Newsletter 4 has been published and sent to all entrants, also available here

  • A reminder - next payments are due at the end of May.

  • Tony Crawford from Canada will be joining us to document and photograph the event. This will be complied into an exclusive volume about the 2004 Minis to Monte with the relevant history. Tony competed on the 1998 Mini Monte organised by the Classic Rally Association having hired a Mini Cooper to do the event. His family is from Yorkshire and has had a passion for mini's being an owner since 1963 with mini friends in the UK and Canada.
